Unheated rubies from
a remote region of Tajikistan are known for their exceptional
red color and clarity. We are fortunate to have recently
selected, purchased, and re-cut this very fine stone from a
local miner and trader who visited Bangkok before returning back
to Tajikistan.
While it is difficult
to capture the true color of this stone on a monitor, we can
tell you that it is not pink, and not purple, but true saturated
red with just a hint of pinkish tone. The stone is not too light or too dark. While
some small inclusions are seen with a loupe, without
magnification, the stone appears clean.
This is a very fine
example of the beautiful stones coming from this deposit.
