Poudretteite is a rare mineral with a hardness of 5 and a chemical formula of KNa2B3Si12O30.  The mineral was found in Mogok 6 years ago, and since that initial discovery, a limited number of pieces of rough have been recovered.

Poudretteite Information at Mindat.org

Although knowledgeable miners in Mogok continue to search for Poudretteite rough, faceted examples of this mineral remain very rare.  Gems weighing over 0.50 carats, with some clarity and/or pink to pinkish/violet tone, are especially elusive.

We recently bought one small piece of rough, and this oval is by far the largest gem produced.  It is interesting as well that half the stone is colorless, but the other have has an attractive and strong pinkish-violet tone.
