This natural Clinohumite is from the Kuh-i-lal Mine in the Pamir Mountains on the Tajikistan/Afghanistan border.  Rare and collectible, Clinohumite from this deposit occurs with Pink Spinel.

Faceted Clinohumite from Tajikistan is one of the few rare gems which is not only attractive, but also durable enough to be used in jewelry.  The Moh's hardness is 6, and there is no significant cleavage.

Clinohumite has also been found in Tanzania, but we have not seen gems from Africa which have the same vibrant yellow-orange color as the stones from Tajikistan.

We have faceted our Pamir Clinohumite gems with care.  The brilliance of Clinohumite is notable, but the good cutting and high polish of our stones makes them especially impressive.
This is a top collection-quality stone.  It is rare for Pamir Clinohumite to be this large and this orange.  There are some slight inclusions which are visible, but no fractures.  The stone is special for its large size and strong color.
